Register to join us via Zoom at 10 a.m. (ET) on Friday, September 18th for a very special spacepower panel event as part of our Great Power Competition (GPC) speaker series. The spotlight on the space domain is ever increasing, as are the vulnerabilities of this heavily contested and congested environment. Emerging from the ongoing Great Power Competition discourse—and amplified by the challenges we’ve faced in 2020—are signs of evolving spacepower. What is it? How is it attained? How is it lost? Which countries are seeking to acquire power in outer space and why?

During this event (open to the public), we’ll aim to address these questions and more with our esteemed panelists:

  • Dr. Namrata Goswami – Author, strategic analyst, and consultant on counter-insurgency, counter-terrorism, alternate futures, and great power politics
  • Dr. Todd Harrison – Director, Defense Budget Analysis; Director, Aerospace Security Project and Senior Fellow, International Security Program at the Center for Strategy and International Studies (CSIS)
  • Dr. John Klein – Author and professor at the George Washington University’s Space Policy Institute
  • Frank Rose – Senior Fellow and Co-Director of the Security and Strategy team in the Foreign Policy program at the Brookings Institution
  • Dr. Mir Sadat – Former Policy Director of the White House National Security Council
  • Dr. Brian Weeden – Director of Program Planning at the Secure World Foundation

As the world seeks to mitigate the health and economic impacts of COVID-19, the space sector has emerged as one of many industries highly impacted by the pandemic, yet must continue to provide national security and technological capabilities that are crucial to the public interest. Don’t miss this critical dialogue for insights about the changing multipolar balance of power, emerging threats to space systems, and the rapidly evolving commercial space landscape—all pivotal when it comes to informing policies and decisions that advance global financial and economic security vis-à-vis the space sector.

Feel free to forward to Government, Academia, and Industry. Please note that this event does require free registration.
