The Air Force Accelerator Class of 2019 powered by Techstars will be coming to a close on 16 May with demo day. This event will showcase the 10 startups that have been a part of this 3-month program. In support of our sponsors, and contributing to dual-use technology acceleration through the Air Force Accelerator Powered by Techstars, MITRE led two technical/domain Lunch and Learns and hosted follow-on office hours. The first Lunch and Learn focused on agile acquisition and quad/white paper writing and best practices, in which MITRE provided insight into acquisition and contracting pathways, shared digital resources, and walked through an exemplar quad/white paper. The second Lunch and Learn focused on Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and how this technology is disrupting the aviation community with a myriad of novel operational concepts and applications. The talk covered the regulatory constraints and the emerging research being done within Government, Academia, and associated Research Labs that developers and operators of small UAS should be aware of in order to more safely integrate small UAS into our daily lives.
