MITRE hosted the Global Women’s Innovation Network in the Boston Seaport on Thursday Oct 3rd.  A dozen US Congressional staffers toured MassChallenge and MassRobotics learning about the robust innovation ecosystem in Boston and MITRE’s activities to bridge innovative solutions from non-traditional sources into the federal government.  Jamie Hood from MITRE welcomed the visitors and provided an overview, then Cait Brumme, Managing Director of MassChallenge Boston, led a Q&A panel of three startup founders from their accelerator cohort.  Shanel Fields, founder of MD Ally, Ashley Kirsner founder of Skip the Small Talk, and Athena Kasvikis, founder and CEO of Behave Bras gave short pitches about their missions and answered questions about the challenges of being a female entrepreneur.  Joyce Sidopoulos, co-founder of MassRobotics, gave a tour of MassRobotics labs and the attendees took a picture with Valkyrie, NASA’s Space Robot.
